I grew up in Winthrop Harbor, a very small town in the very Northeast corner of Illinois; a block from Wisconsin and a mile from Lake Michigan. I am the oldest of three and an aunt to seven boisterous nieces and nephews. I live on a small lake in Northern Illinois with my dog Jake and newest rescue kitten, Trudy. I currently teach vocal and choral music in Deerfield, Illinois. I direct (and sometimes write or arrange) elementary and middle school musicals, two middle school show choirs. I serve as teacher mentor, supervisor, and department chair for general and vocal music in Deerfield. I have also been an adjunct faculty member of the Education Department of Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I taught graduate and undergraduate film and digital media courses and presented at a variety of educational conferences. Some of my work on ePortfolio curriculum and digital media literacy was recently published in 2013. I recently completed an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Music Education at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Minnesota in the summer of 2020. In my spare time I travel, spend time with family, run, kayak, play volleyball, and squeeze every ounce of sun and breeze out of the brief Midwest summers with my rescue puppy, Jake, and my newest rescue kitty, Trud=! |
